Seylo vs Notion

Almost everything that is not this. Notion is a workspace: documents, wikis, databases, calendars, templates, permissions, a team’s whole operating manual in one place. It has apps on every platform, an ecosystem of templates, and years of work behind its editor.

If what you need is a team wiki, a content calendar, a CRM or a place to write long documents together, use Notion. Seylo does not try to be any of those, and a project in Seylo is not a substitute for them.

• Things have types. A note, a brief, a script, a prompt, a visual, a decision, not a page containing any of them. An assistant asking for the prompts in a project gets prompts.
• What came from what. Seylo records that this prompt came from that brief, and that this image came from that prompt, and draws the chain months later.

• Facts the project treats as current. Short pinned sentences that outrank everything else the model reads, and that an assistant may propose but only you confirm.
• Capture from where the work happens. The browser extension files a passage, an image or a whole answer into the right project without leaving the tab.

Notion runs a hosted MCP server: after an OAuth connection, a client such as Claude, Cursor or Codex can search, read, create and update content you have access to. Seylo speaks the same protocol. So the honest question is not whether your assistant can reach the work. It is what it finds.

Through Notion it finds pages and databases, and has to work out for itself which page is current, which was abandoned, and which was written by another model an hour ago. Through Seylo it is told: this is the state of the project, these are the assets that were approved, these are drafts, and this came from that.
